Boones Myles Bay | The Mushy-Faced Snuggle Bug Boones Myles Bay is the only boy in a litter of four sisters, and apparently he decided his role in the family would be professional cuddler. This chunky little love is laid-back, incredibly affectionate, and happiest when he's close enough to his person to soak up every bit of attention available. At just 9 weeks old and approximately 10.8 lbs, Boones is a Lab/Black Labrador Retriever mix and currently the biggest puppy in his litter. While most of his coat is beautiful black, look closely and you'll find hints of brindle coloring along with a little white marking on his chest. And then there's that face—Boones has quite possibly the cutest, mushiest little puppy face imaginable. His personality matches it perfectly! Watch Boones and his siblings in action, then come right back to read more! Of all five puppies, Boones is THE snuggle bug. He's very much a people's puppy who genuinely wants to be close. He loves being held, happily settles in for affection, and is already showing some serious potential to grow into one of those dogs who weighs far more than a lap dog should but remains completely convinced he belongs there anyway. If there's an available lap, Boones would like to discuss the vacancy. Despite being so people-oriented, he's not an overwhelming or demanding puppy. Boones has a wonderfully laid-back nature and is actually a very quiet little guy. He's happy to hang out, be held, and enjoy the company around him without needing to create constant excitement. Of course, he's still a puppy—and he absolutely knows how to have fun. Boones loves playing with his sisters and will happily join in on the puppy games, wrestling and running around with the group. That's also when you're most likely to hear his voice. He's generally very quiet and primarily gets vocal during play, as though a good puppy wrestling match simply requires a little commentary. Once the fun is over, though, Boones has absolutely no problem settling back down. He's also had a fantastic start in foster care. Boones and his sisters are growing up around young, energetic children, adults, and other dogs, giving them lots of exposure to the normal commotion of family life. Their foster has intentionally introduced them to different sounds, including thunder and rainstorm noises and clanking food bowls, and these puppies are accustomed to a home where kids, dogs, and everyday noise are simply part of life. Boones does wonderfully with young children and has shown no noticeable preference between men and women. With his people-loving personality, he's already showing some wonderful potential as a family companion. Canine friends are pretty exciting, too. Boones and his sisters love their foster's energetic 7-month-old Goldendoodle and happily run and chase along with her. They're also curious about the young Blue Lacy mix in the home, although their foster is appropriately taking those introductions slowly. The litter hasn't been introduced to cats yet, so any feline introductions in a future home should be slow and thoughtful. For only nine weeks old, Boones already has some impressive everyday foundations. He's kennel trained, generally quiet in his crate, and does great riding kenneled in the car. Potty training is going very well for such young puppies, although an occasional overnight accident can still happen while those tiny puppy bladders continue developing. Boones is also food motivated and loves treats, which should come in handy as his forever family begins teaching commands and good puppy manners. He and his sisters may be fairly quiet puppies, but once they realize food is on its way, they suddenly have a few things they'd like to say about it. Even bath time is no big deal. These puppies have had plenty of bathing experience and handle it beautifully—they're considerably more interested in trying to drink the sink water than escaping from it. Boones is still a very young puppy, so his forever family will need to continue all the important work his foster has started: potty training, basic commands, leash skills, appropriate chewing, positive socialization, and teaching him how to grow from an adorable mushy-faced baby into a well-mannered adult dog. But Boones is already bringing something pretty wonderful to the table. He's playful when it's time to play, relaxed when it's time to settle, and always ready when it's time to cuddle.
