Effective October 6, 2026
Lilly Bean Collective, LLC ("LBC", "we", "us") operates a pet adoption platform (the "Service") that connects animal shelters, rescues, and foster organizations with people looking to adopt. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
We have written this policy to match what the Service actually does. Where a practice has a limit, we state the limit rather than describing it in broader terms.
Account information: your name, email address, password, and optionally a phone number and profile photo. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in a form we can read back.
Adoption application information: the information you enter when you apply to adopt, which can include your address, housing situation (own or rent, yard access), household members, existing pets, personal and veterinary references, employment, and household income. Organizations use this to assess whether a placement is a good fit. We collect it on their behalf so it can be shared with the organization you applied to.
Communications: messages you send through the Service, support requests, and feedback you submit.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts on the Service.
Cookies we set are first party and are used only to operate your session:
Local storage:
You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser. Blocking the session cookie will prevent you from signing in.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use adoption application data for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
During an adoption, information may be exchanged between you and the organization you are working with, which can include contact details, application contents, and references. You choose what to provide, and you can keep initial contact inside the platform messaging until you are comfortable sharing more.
Animal welfare organizations can display their available pets on their own websites using a widget we provide. An organization may also build its own directory that reads our public API. This section describes what happens in each case.
When our widget runs on an organization's site, it loads pet data from our public API and may send three usage events back to us:
What these events do not include. They do not include your name or contact details. Our relay does not collect or forward your IP address, so these events are attributed to our own infrastructure rather than to you. They are not used to build advertising profiles and are not shared with advertisers.
Each organization has a setting in its dashboard that turns widget measurement off entirely. When it is off, the widget still displays pets and search normally and no event is sent. An organization can change this at any time, and the change applies on the next page load.
The widget checks the Do Not Track signal (navigator.doNotTrack, window.doNotTrack, and the legacy msDoNotTrack) and Global Privacy Control (navigator.globalPrivacyControl). If any is set, no event is sent.
If an organization builds its own pet directory against our public API, we send pet data only. The public API sets no cookies and collects no identifiers. Whatever that organization's own site collects is governed by their privacy practices, not this policy.
We keep information only as long as it is needed, and several categories are removed automatically by database expiry rules rather than by hand:
Product analytics held by our analytics provider are subject to that provider's retention for our plan. We will state the current figure on request.
To request deletion of your data, email privacy@lillybeancollective.io.
We apply measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including:
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a unique password and keep your devices protected.
Subject to where you live and to our legal obligations, you can:
To exercise any of these, email privacy@lillybeancollective.io. We aim to respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will not charge you for a reasonable request.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact privacy@lillybeancollective.io.
We are based in the United States and process information there. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Our hosting and analytics providers process data under their own data processing agreements.
The Service links to the websites of the organizations listed on it, and to external resources such as veterinary information. Those sites are not operated by us, and this policy does not cover them. When you follow a link to an organization's own adoption platform, that organization's privacy practices apply to what happens there.
We may update this policy as the Service changes or the law requires. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will notify you by email or by a notice on the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to access and delete it, to correct it, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we carry out neither activity, there is nothing for you to opt out of.
Submit a request to privacy@lillybeancollective.io. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to be informed, to access, to correct, to erase, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
We process personal information on these legal bases: performance of a contract (operating your account and applications), legitimate interests (securing the Service, preventing fraud, and improving it), legal obligation (retaining records where the law requires), and consent where we ask for it.
To exercise your rights, or to contact the person responsible for data protection, email privacy@lillybeancollective.io. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority, though we would prefer the chance to resolve your concern with you first.
