Charlie will be your shadow – he loves to be right by your side at all times and is always wondering what you're doing and if he can help in any way. Charlie is fully kennel trained, potty trained, and has wonderful house manners. We don’t know Charlie’s exact mix (DNA test results pending!) but we do know that he has the biggest personality, a beautiful red coat, and the most expressive eyes that will melt everyone's heart. He leans into affection like he's waited his whole life for it, and in many ways, he probably has. He makes the best cuddler and loves to join you on the couch. Toys are his absolute favorite, so make sure you're stocked up for this guy! When he isn't by your side staring deep into your soul, you can likely find him napping on the couch with his selected favorite stuffy of the day tucked under his chin. Charlie has taken to his new life in the PNW like a duck to water. He loves hiking and backpacking in the Cascades, playing on the beach by the sound, lake, or river, snacking on some salmon treats, and watching the wildlife go by. He loves a car ride – no matter the length. Hopping in the second a door opens and – after the initial excitement of getting to go along – curling up into a ball and falling asleep. He also loves tagging along to the farmers market, coffee shop, and stores with his foster humans and sibling. Charlie currently lives in the greater Seattle area with two human fosters and one doggy foster sibling, a 7-year-old pittie mix he warmed up to quickly. They're now inseparable and love to play hard and cuddle harder. He's happiest close to his people, whether curled at your feet while you work from home or trotting by your side on the trails. He's not a pushy playmate and will back off if another dog doesn't want to play. Charlie would do well in a home with other dogs, but could also thrive as an only dog, especially with a human who's around often to keep him company. Charlie can be a shy boy at first but after about 10 minutes of sniffing and observing, he's good to go. Charlie also has an opinion, especially when someone pulls into the driveway or knocks on the door. He'd love a backyard to stretch out, run around, and sunbathe in, but with the right amount of exercise, c While Charlie hasn't lived with kids full-time, he's shown gentle curiosity toward friends' children ages 2 to 10 during visits. He'd do best with older, respectful kids who understand how to give a dog space and kindness, since he needs a bit of room to warm up before the hugs and kisses start.
