If you're looking for a dog who can turn a completely ordinary Tuesday into the most entertaining day you've ever had, allow us to introduce you to Dee. Dee is a 7-month-old, 48-pound German Shepherd mix with a personality that can only be described as maximum fun. He is silly, bouncy, affectionate, playful, and completely convinced that life is one giant invitation to have a good time. He doesn't just run across the yard—he does these adorable little kangaroo hops while he's at it. He zooms, he bounces, he wiggles, and he makes everyone around him smile. Watch Dee's video here! Dee LOVES his toys. Squeaky toys? Absolutely. Fetch? He's in. Tug? Even better. Give him a toy and a little room to zoom around, and you've basically given this boy everything he needs for the perfect afternoon. He has the kind of goofy puppy energy that makes you want to grab a lawn chair and just watch the show. But Dee isn't all action. This big goofy boy has a seriously sweet heart underneath all those zoomies. He is incredibly friendly and loves his people. He happily gives affection, soaks up attention, and believes that pretty much everyone he meets is a potential new best friend. His favorite form of communication may actually be kisses. Lots and lots of kisses. And Dee doesn't discriminate when it comes to his kissing buddies. He met a kitty friend and was absolutely smitten. He followed the cat around, gave him kisses all over his face, and was wonderfully gentle. It was honestly one of the cutest cat introductions we've seen. Dee currently lives with cats and has done well with them, although because he's a playful, enthusiastic puppy, he would do best with a confident, cat-savvy kitty who won't mind telling him when his puppy enthusiasm is getting a little excessive. Having another dog in the home would also be wonderful for Dee so he has an appropriate playmate. Speaking of dogs, Dee LOVES them. He lives with multiple dogs, both big and small, and has excellent social skills. He enjoys playing and can absolutely bring the party, but he also understands when another dog isn't interested. When one dog told him, "No thanks, buddy," Dee respected the boundary and moved on. His ideal doggy sibling would be one who enjoys playing but has a gentler style, since Dee has a neck condition that means his family needs to be mindful about overly rough play. He's also got a surprisingly nice off-switch. After he's had his fun, Dee can settle down and relax. He is comfortable in his crate, walks right into it on his own, and has shown that he can handle new experiences well. During his assessment, he was initially a little unsure and barky when things were unfamiliar, but he warmed up quickly and bounced right back. Once Dee knows you're a friend, you're officially on his Very Important People list. And trust us, that's a good list to be on. Because Dee is the kind of dog who doesn't just want to live alongside his family—he wants to be part of everything. He wants to run around the backyard, chase a toy, play with his dog friends, greet you with a face full of kisses, and then flop down nearby when the excitement is over. He's goofy without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, playful without forgetting his manners, and endlessly entertaining without even trying. He has the hops. He has the zoomies. He has the squeaky toys. He has the kisses. He has the world's goofiest little grin. All he's missing is a family who is ready to join in on the fun.
