Have you ever met a cat that's convinced he's actually part dog? Because we're pretty sure Diego missed the memo that he's supposed to be a cat. This handsome tuxedo gentleman is the type that's going to greet you at the door, follow you from room to room just to see what you're up to, and happily curl up beside you whenever it's time to relax. He's affectionate without being overbearing, chatty enough to make you laugh, and has mastered the perfect balance between playful and laid back. If you've been searching for a cat that's equal parts best friend, roommate, and professional cuddle buddy, Diego is ready to apply for the position. Be sure to watch his video and prepare to fall in love with this handsome tuxedo boy. As with any rescue, Diego's history is a bit of a mystery, but we estimate he's approximately 3 years old. He has the softest tuxedo coat, the cutest plush little face, and has fully grown into the confident, easygoing adult cat he's meant to be. One of our favorite things about Diego is how much he genuinely enjoys being around his people. His foster lovingly calls him her "dog-cat" because he's happiest wherever you are. Reading on the couch? Diego will probably join you. Folding laundry? He'll happily supervise. Heading to bed? Don't be surprised if he decides that's exactly where he'd like to sleep too. He loves curling up close, enjoys affection, and has the kind of comforting presence that makes a house feel a little more like home. He's also quite the little conversationalist. Diego always seems to have something important to say, especially if it's getting close to wet food time or he'd like a few extra pets. His adorable little chats are one of those personality traits that quickly become something you look forward to hearing every day. While Diego has definitely embraced the relaxed lifestyle, don't let that fool you into thinking he never plays. Every now and then those surprise zoomies make an appearance, and watching this otherwise distinguished gentleman suddenly race around the house is guaranteed to make you smile. Most of the time, though, he's perfectly content finding a sunny window, stretching out on a soft blanket, or quietly keeping you company while you go about your day. Diego is currently living with three resident cats and has settled in beautifully. He enjoys having feline company and has shown himself to be respectful and easygoing with the other cats in his foster home. He's also perfectly comfortable spending the workday relaxing while his foster is away, patiently waiting to greet her when she gets home. It's also worth mentioning that Diego is FIV+, which simply means his immune system is a little lower than the average cat's. The good news is that he doesn't require any special day-to-day care beyond routine veterinary checkups and living indoors like any well-loved house cat. It certainly doesn't stop him from living a happy, healthy, completely normal life. If you've been looking for a cat that's affectionate, easy to live with, wonderfully chatty, and the type that will quietly become your little shadow, Diego may just be your perfect match. He'll happily keep you company, make sure you never feel alone, and remind you every single day why adopting an adult cat is one of the best decisions you can make. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This kitty you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties Rescue (3LP) wants to set you and your new family member up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby you also receive other additional perks such as a code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet, coupons for a fun visit to Petco, and support through our Facebook Adopters group where you can connect with thousands of other adopters, 3LP volunteers, fosters and staff. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescues and will require continued efforts but are well on their way to being the best kitties that they can be! We ask that you give them time (can take weeks to months) to decompress in their new home, do slow introductions to other pets and let their true personalities have a chance to come through. We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 16,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
