The right person exists. They just need to see them in time.

Drew has the face of a dog who looks mildly concerned about everything and the body of a dog who turns into a boneless pile of happy wiggles the second he realizes you came over just to love him. He is shy and joyful, cautious and playful, quiet and somehow always one good belly rub away from nearly wiggling out of his own skin. Drew is full of funny little contradictions, and once you understand him, they are exactly what make him so endearing. Go watch Drew on YouTube in “Drew Softly Does It | The Sweetest Little Contradiction” and see the noodle-legged wiggles for yourself. His personality makes much more sense once you see that worried little face suddenly light up when he realizes he has a friend. Drew is estimated to be around two years old, and he thrives when life feels soft. Give him gentle people, happy dogs and a peaceful environment, and a completely different side of him starts bubbling to the surface. He especially enjoys puppies, smaller dogs and playful companions who keep things lighthearted. Around dogs like that, Drew joins right in and becomes happy, silly and playful himself. He is also wonderfully good at knowing when something is not for him. If another dog is too intense or the room gets too chaotic, Drew does not feel the need to argue about it. He simply excuses himself. You may find him stretched out quietly in a corner, making himself small until things settle down. It is such a gentle little coping strategy and very Drew: no drama, no confrontation, just “I think I’ll sit this one out.” He approaches people in much the same way. Drew probably will not march into a room demanding that everyone notice him, but give him a little attention and you quickly learn how much affection has been hiding underneath that "shy" exterior. His whole body loosens, the wiggles begin, and suddenly this solemn-looking cutie boy is melting into you while simultaneously appearing seconds away from launching into a happy bounce. The right home for Drew will be one that genuinely appreciates a softer dog. He would be happiest in a calmer household without constant noise, commotion or a revolving door of overwhelming activity. He does not need his world to be small, just thoughtful. A peaceful routine, kind people and perhaps a gentle canine friend would allow him to keep becoming the happy, affectionate little character he already shows us when he feels comfortable. Drew may never be the loudest personality in the room. That is part of his charm. He is the dog quietly waiting for someone to notice him, and once you do, he is absolutely delighted that you did!
