He especially enjoys puppies, smaller dogs and playful companions who keep things lighthearted. Around dogs like that, Drew joins right in and becomes happy, silly and playful himself. He is also wonderfully good at knowing when something is not for him. If another dog is too intense or the room gets too chaotic, Drew does not feel the need to argue about it. He simply excuses himself. You may find him stretched out quietly in a corner, making himself small until things settle down. It is such a gentle little coping strategy and very Drew: no drama, no confrontation, just “I think I’ll sit this one out.” He approaches people in much the same way. Drew probably will not march into a room demanding that everyone notice him, but give him a little attention and you quickly learn how much affection has been hiding underneath that "shy" exterior. His whole body loosens, the wiggles begin, and suddenly this solemn-looking cutie boy is melting into you while simultaneously appearing seconds away from launching into a happy bounce.
