Ella Still Got It would like you to throw the ball, and if you happen to mention that she’s an estimated seven years old, she’ll be halfway across the yard before you even finish your sentence. So bascially, that is a non-point. Just throw the ball for the pretty lady. This gorgeous girl is nimble, spunky, and so much fun along with the house manners that make you appreciate a dog who’s had a little time to figure things out. Go watch Ella on YouTube to see her fetch skills in action. She’s still got plenty of pep, and she will be delighted to demonstrate! Copy and paste her YouTube link into your browser: Ella is a German Shepherd in looks and a Malinois in spirit, though her breed and age are our best guesses. Nobody seems to have told her about the age part. Open the car door and she’s in with one easy jump, ready to ride. She’s wonderful in the car, and getting onto the couch or a tall bed is just as effortless. Wherever the comfy spot is, Ella can get herself there. Fetch is her favorite thing, and playing with her is an actual joy. She’s enthusiastic without getting wild, happy to chase a ball and equally happy to take a break when you’re finished. You can move on with your day and she’ll settle in the grass or find somewhere to lounge with her ball. She loves a squeaky toy or a stuffy, too, so there are plenty of ways to make this girl happy. One afternoon, after a round of fetch, her ball rolled underneath the couch. Ella quietly lay down beside the spot where it disappeared and waited. No barking, no whining, no frantic demands for a rescue mission. Just a very patient girl keeping track of her favorite possession until someone could lend a hand. We love that level of cool, calm and collected. She’s lovely with other dogs around her toys, too. If a dog friend wants to chase along while she fetches, that’s fine with Ella. If they try to take the ball, she handles that easily as well. She shares toys beautifully and can enjoy her own game while the other dogs join the fun. Friendly dogs who enjoy some play followed by a good rest would make nice companions for her but she would also be perfectly content as an only dog. Ella has lived in a home and is both house and crate trained. She’s attentive, gentle, and a good listener, with an easy way of keeping you company. She’s ready when you want to do something together, but she can settle comfortably when you’re busy. Having spent time with her, we really appreciate how naturally she balances those two things. Her best match would be someone who enjoys a playful dog and will make time for her favorite games, then welcome her inside to relax nearby. Ella brings plenty of fun to an ordinary day, and she already knows a lot about being a good housemate. We love this girl, and we can’t wait for someone to get to enjoy her every day.
