Let me introduce you to a social, happy, affectionate girl… Meet Harlen! She brings wiggly enthusiasm and great energy to every interaction and her personality shines from the moment you meet her. Take a look and see her in action then come back to read more- Harlen is estimated to be somewhere around 1.5-years-old and is likely a pittie mix with 69 pounds of wiggles. Of course breed and birthdate are not guaranteed given she is a rescue. Harlen is happiest when she’s surrounded by friends- dog or human. One thing that is certain with Harlen is her love and devotion to people. She has so much of it that you don't even need another dog because her loyalty is equivalent to 5 dogs combined. It's one of the first things we noticed about her and our favorite thing about Harlen. She gets the best full body wiggles as soon as she sees someone coming her way. These qualities are what makes her a perfect candidate for being for your one and only. Harlen is dog friendly and can pass other dogs out on a walk and is overall friendly. What would make her the happiest, is being your one and only fur baby in the home to soak up all the love and companionship. Harlen is also cat tolerant, which is huge for a young, playful dog her size. She was introduced to our spicy house cat Biggie and she met him politely and was able to walk away without prompting, showing great emotional control. They shared the space, both relaxed and unbothered by eachother. Our cat got to the point he felt so comfortable he became a bit playful and did a hilarious sneak attack on Harlen complete with a bite on her neck and claws into her skin and again, she was cool as a cucumber. A slow introduction at home is still recommended, but she showed very encouraging behaviors. We believe Harlen would make a great family dog! She has spent time with kids ages 14 and she absolutely loved them! It was an immediate connection. She loved snuggling on the couch with them and also loved it when they would wrap her up in a blanket burrito. She's a girl that loves to love and just has so much of it to give. Harlen is a kissy girl and loves to give kisses, it’s her love language. Her kisses are pure magic, full of slobber and enthusiasm. If you’re familiar with pitties then you know the phrase, “pibble nibbles.” When she’s feeling especially happy or connected to you, she’ll gently use her front teeth in the softest little nibbling motions, almost like tiny, careful love taps. It’s not rough or intentional mouthing, just her sweet, slightly silly way of showing affection. Sometimes when she gets extra excited during cuddle time, she can become a little mouthy in that playful, overly-loving way, like she doesn’t quite know what to do with all her feelings. It’s never mean-spirited, just enthusiastic affection spilling over. A simple redirect or reminder helps her remember to keep all that love a little more contained. Harlen would be happy in either a house with a yard or an apartment with enough exercise. She’s adaptable, affectionate, and very connected to her people. A family that enjoys playtime, walks, and laughing at her goofy antics will be a perfect match. Harlen is a smart girly too and already has great basic leash skills and walks well on leash overall. She does pull every now and then out of excitement, especially when she sees a friendly face she wants to say hello too but she is easy to correct and easy to train. All Harlen wants to do is to make her people happy, she's a people pleaser and the best one at that!
