Meet Hot Potato, a seven-month-old Pitty/Lab mix who looks like someone took a big, chunky puppy body and attached the cutest little legs imaginable! At 35 pounds, he is perfectly squishy, wonderfully wiggly, and absolutely adorable. His caramel-colored coat, big happy eyes, floppy ears, and bright white chest are already cute enough — but then you notice his little white socks! Those tiny white feet make it look like Hot Potato got dressed up for a very important occasion and forgot to put on the rest of his outfit. Hot Potato is a certified goofball and basically a walking happiness machine. He has never met a person he didn't like and greets everyone with a full-body wiggle. New friend? WIGGLES. Favorite person? MORE WIGGLES. Someone holding a toy? IMMEDIATE WIGGLES. Watch Hot Potato's video here! And this boy LOVES to PLAY. He zooms around on his little legs like they are absolutely capable of carrying his chunky self at Formula 1 speeds. He loves toys, fetch, tug, wrestling, running, and generally being a silly puppy. He is wonderfully dog-friendly and has been a total rockstar in playgroups. He currently lives with a puppy, a 12-year-old Yorkie, and an 8-year-old Pitty mix, and he does wonderfully with all of them. He can get a little rowdy because he is, in fact, a professional puppy, but he listens beautifully when his foster asks him to be “easy.” Hot Potato is also CAT-FRIENDLY! He lives with cats and does great with them. During his cat test, he gave the kitty a few polite sniffs and then basically said, “Cool, anyway…” and went about his day. He is perfectly happy sharing his home with feline friends. When his tiny legs finally get tired, Hot Potato is an expert cuddler. He loves curling up on the couch, snuggling with his people, and being as close to you as physically possible. He is a little Velcro boy who has recently started discovering that he can also entertain himself and be independent. But if there's a lap available? He will absolutely be submitting his application. And underneath all that squish is a very smart puppy. Hot Potato learns quickly and has already worked on sitting, heeling, walking skills, and his kennel routine. He is crate trained, making great progress with potty training, and has even started using bells by the door to tell his foster when he needs to go outside. He is wonderfully food motivated and loves snacks like carrots, cucumber, blueberries, and broccoli stems. Hot Potato could potentially live in an apartment depending on the complex, provided his family gives him plenty of exercise, playtime, and enrichment. Of course, a yard would be a fantastic bonus for a puppy with zoomies this enthusiastic! Hot Potato is basically a chunky little potato with legs, socks, a giant smile, and an even bigger personality. He's playful, cuddly, smart, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and completely convinced that everyone he meets is his new best friend. Honestly, we don't know how he got the name Hot Potato — but we do know one thing: you're going to want to scoop this potato up immediately. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
