Kayne is the kind of dog who makes friends everywhere he goes. He’s affectionate, outgoing, and absolutely convinced that people were put on this earth to give him cuddles. From the moment he meets you, he’s ready to lean in for affection and make himself right at home by your side. At about 2 years old and 66 pounds, Kayne is a handsome pit bull mix with gorgeous yellow eyes and the cutest little pixie ears. He has a wonderful balance of playful young-dog energy and serious couch-cuddling skills. He’s happy to head out on an adventure with you, but when the day is over, he’s just as happy curling up close for a movie night. And when we say Kayne is adventurous, we mean it. This boy has even competed in a dog surfing competition! Kayne got the chance to get out on the water, hop on a surfboard, and show everyone that rescue dogs can be up for some pretty incredible adventures. He’s definitely a dog who will give his future family some great stories to tell. Kayne has done very well meeting other dogs with all kinds of personalities, from calm dogs to energetic and playful ones. He may take a little time to check out his surroundings before jumping into play, but once he gets comfortable, his playful side comes out. He tends to have a submissive play style and has a great time rolling around and playing with his dog friends. We think a medium-energy dog sibling could be a great match for him. He is also wonderful with children. His foster family has young children in their lives, including a two-year-old and a four-year-old, and Kayne absolutely adores them. He is gentle and playful with them and has shown what a loving family dog he can be. Cats, however, are a little too exciting for Kayne. He is very interested in them and wants to play more than most cats would appreciate, so a cat-free home would be the best fit. Kayne could be happy in a house or an apartment as long as his family gives him enough exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to get out and explore. He also does pretty well on leash, which makes getting out for those adventures even easier. More than anything, Kayne is a people dog. He wants a family he can love wholeheartedly—people who will take him along for the fun and then make room for him on the couch when it’s time to relax. If you’re looking for an affectionate, adventurous, dog-friendly family companion with beautiful yellow eyes, ridiculous little pixie ears, and a surfing story under his belt, Kayne might just be your guy.
