At just 4 months old, this spayed Pit Bull Terrier/Border Collie mix weighs approximately 18.8 lbs and has already mastered the art of making herself completely irresistible. And that coat! Lil Bit is dressed to impress in sleek black and white, with bright white socks, a beautiful blaze running up her face, and markings that make her look like she's permanently dressed for a special occasion. Add in her expressive eyes and the cutest little smile that appears whenever she's excited about something, and this girl knows exactly how to get your attention. But looks aren't even Lil Bit's greatest talent. Affection is. This girl is an absolute lovebug who will happily smother you in kisses the second she decides you're a friend. It doesn't take her long to make that decision either. She quickly warms up, hands out kisses like they were unlimited, and made it very clear that being close to her person is exactly where she wants to be. Doing laundry? Congratulations, you've hired a tiny black-and-white laundry assistant. Wherever her person goes, Lil Bit is perfectly happy tagging along to see what you're doing. That's the Sugar. The Spice? Well, she's still a four-month-old puppy. Lil Bit is playful, curious, and loves being outside. She even loves swimming, so don't be surprised if this little girl happily joins you for some water-filled adventures. She enjoys playing with toys and has a particular appreciation for her wishbone-shaped chew bones. She's currently teething, so she can get a little mouthy when puppy excitement takes over, but she responded beautifully to redirection. Hand her an appropriate toy and she's happy to redirect those puppy teeth and play away. She's also one smart little cookie. Lil Bit already knows sit, is highly food motivated, and thinks treats are one of humanity's greatest inventions. That combination of brains and food motivation should make continued training both important and fun. She also did wonderfully having her collar and leash put on and was comfortable being handled throughout the process. Like any four-month-old puppy, Lil Bit is still working on her potty training, and she's responding well as she learns. New environments can bring a few extra puppy accidents while she settles in, so her new family should be prepared to continue a consistent potty routine with patience and positive reinforcement. Lil Bit sleeps in her crate and also willingly walked into the crate available during her content session. But if she gets the opportunity to sleep beside her person? That's even better. Her foster says Lil Bit loves curling up next to him and sleeping with her head resting right on his shoulder—which probably tells you everything you need to know about this girl's love language. She's also a great car rider, making it easy for this little shadow to tag along for adventures with her people. When playtime winds down, Lil Bit's softer side comes right back out. Once she's tired, she's happy to settle beside her person, lay down, and soak up the closeness. She isn't an especially loud puppy, either. For all the personality and affection packed into her little body, she can be wonderfully content simply hanging out with someone she loves. Lil Bit hasn't had experience with children yet, so introductions to kids should be thoughtful and supervised. She's an enthusiastic, affectionate puppy who can sometimes bring a whole lot of love—and puppy mouthiness—at once, so giving her appropriate guidance will help set both Lil Bit and her new little humans up for success. Thoughtful introductions to cats are recommended as well. What Lil Bit needs most isn't complicated: consistency, patience, training, playtime, and plenty of love. Give her those things and you'll have one very smart little girl eager to keep learning alongside you. She's playful enough to keep you laughing, affectionate enough to make you feel completely adored, and when she's finally worn herself out, she'll happily curl up beside you—preferably with her little head tucked against your shoulder.
