Warning: If you have a sunny spot in your backyard, Phoebe is probably already claiming it as her personal tanning bed. This adorable girl is our self-proclaimed solar-powered pittie, and honestly, she's got life figured out. Give her a patch of warm grass, a squeaky toy, and a few belly rubs, and she's convinced she's living at a five-star resort. Phoebe is about four and a half years old, and we think she's a Pit Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is absolutely irresistible with her giant satellite ears, chunky little potato body, squishy forehead wrinkles, and the kind of smile that makes you smile right back. She's one of those dogs who somehow manages to look both incredibly majestic and completely goofy at the exact same time. Watch Phoebe's video here! Phoebe is the definition of a lover girl. She's living in a wonderful foster home with kids as young as two years old, along with both a large dog and a small dog, and she's thriving. She's incredibly affectionate, hands out kisses like they're free, and truly believes every person she meets is just another best friend waiting to happen. If you're sitting down, don't be surprised if she wanders over to politely request pets—or not-so-politely cover your face in kisses first. Of course, every solar-powered pittie needs hobbies, and Phoebe has plenty. She loves toys of every kind, especially squeaky ones, and she's always up for a game of fetch. You'll often find her proudly carrying her favorite toy around the yard before flopping down in the sunshine for a well-earned break. Rolling around in the grass? One of her specialties. Sunbathing? Olympic level. She would absolutely love a backyard where she can perfect her tanning routine. And when the batteries finally run out, Phoebe transforms into the funniest sleeper you've ever met. She naps upside down with her tiny little teethers sticking out, curls herself into the smallest cinnamon roll imaginable, or crosses her little legs like she's royalty. Every nap is somehow cuter than the last. Phoebe is a wonderful medium-energy companion who enjoys adventures but doesn't need to be on the go all day. She walks nicely on leash, is a quiet girl overall, and we think she'd do great in either an apartment or a home with a yard. As long as she's with her people, she's happy. When it comes to other dogs, Phoebe enjoys having canine friends but appreciates good manners. She's happiest with calm, respectful dogs—especially easygoing male dogs—and benefits from slow introductions before jumping into friendship. Once she's comfortable, she's happy to share toys, coexist peacefully, and simply enjoy each other's company. She currently lives with both a large dog and a small dog, though because she can get a little enthusiastic during play, she'd do best with a sturdy small dog if she has one. The only thing on Phoebe's wish list is a cat-free home. Cats just aren't her thing, and she's much happier sticking to her favorite humans, respectful dog friends, squeaky toys, and endless sunshine. If you've been dreaming of a dog who's equal parts cuddle bug, fetch enthusiast, professional sunbather, and world-class snuggler, Phoebe is ready to brighten every single day. All she needs now is a forever family to soak up the sunshine with. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Apply today! Questions?
