Remy Sweets is one of those dogs that's just easy to love. Not because he demands your attention or constantly tries to be the center of it, but because he's simply such a happy, sweet guy to have around. His foster says his favorite thing about Remy is how loving he is and how he'll quietly lay beside him while they watch TV at the end of the day. He has an easygoing way about him that makes everyday life together feel comfortable from the very beginning, along with the perfect balance of playful fun and calm, snuggly companionship. Watch his video and prepare to fall in love with this happy little sidekick: Remy is believed to be approximately 5 months old and currently weighs about 18 pounds. As with any rescue puppy, his exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is he's a Pittie mix. Whatever combination created him also gave him an adorable face, an easygoing personality, and a size that we think will stay on the smaller side once he's fully grown. One of our favorite things about Remy is how naturally he seems to fit into whatever the day has in store. He's happy to romp around the yard, toss toys around, and explore somewhere new, but he doesn't feel like he's constantly on the go. He has a wonderfully calm, adaptable energy that allows him to settle right back down when the excitement is over. He's affectionate without being clingy, perfectly content entertaining himself when you're busy, and always ready to curl up beside you once it's time to relax. His foster says Remy has been an absolute joy to have around. He has great house manners, doesn't give him any trouble, and is quiet in his crate. He's crate trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and has proudly claimed the shotgun seat as his favorite place to be. Whether you're heading across town to run errands or taking a weekend road trip, Remy is more than happy to come along for the ride. Like any young dog, Remy is still learning as he grows and will benefit from continued training, socialization, and plenty of positive experiences. Thankfully, he already has a wonderful foundation and approaches new experiences with a thoughtful, easygoing attitude that should make continuing his training both fun and rewarding. Remy has also spent time around children between the ages of 5 and 8 and has done wonderfully with them. We think he has all the makings of an incredible family companion for a home with respectful kids. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely be happy with a canine playmate, but we think he'd be just as content soaking up all the attention as your one and only. Because of his calmer demeanor, quiet nature, and good house manners, we also think Remy has the potential to do well in an apartment as long as he's getting the daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment every young dog needs. Remy has that wonderful combination that's hard to find. He's playful without being wild, laid-back without being lazy, and loving without needing to be attached to your side every second of the day. He's simply a genuinely good dog who's happy to be wherever life takes him, whether that's playing in the backyard, riding shotgun on your next adventure, or stretching out beside you on the couch after a long day.
