Meet Roley Poly, a six-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitten with the sweetest personality and a serious love for cuddles. He’s affectionate, social, playful, and has one of our favorite little habits. Before joining in on the kitten chaos, Roley Poly likes to sit back and watch it unfold first. While the other kittens are immediately running, wrestling, chasing toys, and creating general mayhem, you’ll often find Roley nearby quietly spectating. He watches everything. He’ll crouch down, stalk the action, study what everyone is doing, and wait for just the right moment before deciding it’s officially time to join in. And once he does, he’s all kitten. Roley Poly has plenty of kitten antics of his own. He loves to play, wrestle, chase toys, explore, and get into mischief with the rest of the crew. He just likes to know what he’s getting himself into first. Sometimes it feels like you can actually see him thinking about whether the chaos happening across the room is worth getting up for. Usually, the answer is yes. Roley Poly is also a bottle baby, so people have been a big part of his world from the very beginning. He is incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves attention. He loves being pet, picked up, held, and cuddled. When he isn’t busy keeping tabs on what the other kittens are doing, he’s perfectly happy settling in with his people and soaking up all the love he can get. He’s being fostered around dogs and adult cats and does wonderfully with both. He’s very social and comfortable being part of a busy household. Having other animals around just gives him more activity to watch, more friends to play with, and occasionally more nonsense to investigate. One of the sweetest things about Roley Polie is how easily he goes from curious little spectator to playful kitten to complete cuddle bug. He can spend one minute carefully stalking a sibling from across the room, the next right in the middle of a wrestling match, and then happily curl up with you when everyone finally wears themselves out. He really is such a fun combination. He has all the silly, playful energy you want in a kitten, but there’s something especially endearing about the way he likes to take everything in first. He doesn’t need to be the first one into the action. He’s perfectly content watching for a minute, figuring out exactly what everyone is up to, and then making his entrance. Like all young kittens, Roley Poly still has plenty of growing, learning, and exploring ahead of him. He’s ready for a family who will appreciate his curious little personality, give him plenty of friends and things to investigate, and most importantly, always have room for one very affectionate kitten when it’s time to cuddle.
