She adores people, leans her whole body into affection and has perfected the art of backing up and plopping herself directly into an available lap. Roxy is fostered in a loving home and currently lives with a large dog who enjoys the same rough-and-rowdy style of play she does. She has met several other dogs and definitely has a type. Her best match would be a confident, playful larger dog who can comfortably keep up with her enthusiasm without creating conflict. Roxy can be bossy and overly involved when other dogs are playing, so thoughtful introductions, good supervision and a dog-savvy family will be important. She could also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as the only dog in the home. Despite her enthusiastic play style, Roxy knows how to come inside and switch over to relaxation mode. At home, she is low-key and content to stretch out, enjoy some snackies and collect as many belly rubs as possible. She is both house and crate trained and walks into her crate easily. Roxy is still working on her leash manners around other dogs. She can bark and pull out of excitment when she sees them, but she is continuing to work on these skills while waiting for her forever home. For now though, a home without shared apartment hallways or other tight, dog-heavy spaces will be the best fit for her. Her foster reports that she has done well with children, and we can easily picture her enjoying family life with people who appreciate an affectionate, silly dog with plenty of personality. She was wonderfully accepting of handling during her assessment and happily rolled onto her back for even more attention.
