Uncle Joe is the kind of dog who feels familiar in the best way, he’s steady, polite, and quietly charming, with a goofy side and perfect timing. 🎥 Want to see Uncle Joe hilariously try to catch a ball and then chase it around? If so, check out his YouTube video- then come back and keep reading. His entertainment value is undeniable. Estimated to be around 7 years old and weighing 78 lbs, Uncle Joe is a mature lab/mastiff mix (?) who has fully entered his peaceful companion era. The question mark is to acknowledge we cannot guarantee those details given he is a rescue- breed and birthday are educated observations at best. Joe walks beautifully on leash, rides calmly in the car, and is wonderfully easy to be around. He loves playing with his ball and can catch it… sometimes. When he misses (which happens often), the chase that follows is pure comedy - earnest, determined, and impossible not to laugh at. Joe is fostered in a loving home where his personality really shines. At home, he enjoys carrying toys around in his mouth and is known for sneaking kisses when the moment feels right. While he may come off a bit aloof at first in new environments, he is genuinely good with people and warms up quickly with gentle introductions. Once he has introduced himself, he leans into affection with a sneaky kiss or two and shows his soft, sweet side in quiet ways. Uncle Joe is looking to be the only pet in the home - no other dogs and no cats. He can coexist calmly on leash around other dogs and is easy to manage in public, but he’s most relaxed and content when he doesn’t have to share his space. This isn’t about reactivity - it’s about preference. Joe knows he thrives as a solo companion, and we love that clarity for him. Because of his size and thoughtful nature, Uncle Joe would do best with older kids who understand boundaries and can give him a little space as he settles in. Once he’s comfortable, he’s affectionate and enjoys being part of the family rhythm without needing constant attention. Thanks to his excellent leash manners and calm demeanor, Uncle Joe could do well in a home or potentially an apartment. He’s not demanding, not noisy, and not looking for an action-packed lifestyle - just good walks, the occasional car ride (to the beach maybe?) a few laughs over his ball antics, and a person who appreciates a dog with a little depth. Uncle Joe isn’t asking for chaos or constant company. Instead he is offering you his paw in a quiet, lifelong partnership built on patience, loyalty, and a whole lot of heart. Ready for the Joe life?
