Meet Waffle Osito, a sweet Shepherd/Husky mix puppy who is discovering just how good life can be when you have a safe place, dog friends, kids to play with, and—perhaps most importantly—cheese. Waffle has a wonderful combination of calm sweetness and playful puppy energy. He currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and loves having canine friends around. He especially enjoys playing with his sister, and when the kids are ready for some fun, Waffle is more than happy to join them. He’s playful without needing to be the center of attention every second of the day. There’s a gentler, calmer side to Waffle that makes him an especially sweet little companion. When Waffle finds himself somewhere unfamiliar, he can be a little timid at first. New surroundings may take him a moment to figure out, and that’s understandable for a puppy who was previously living on the streets. We may never know everything Waffle experienced before being rescued, but we do know that he hasn’t always had the security and stability every puppy deserves. Give him a little time to observe, settle in, and realize everything is okay, and Waffle begins to show you the playful puppy underneath. His foster home is now giving him the opportunity to experience something very different: consistency, family life, other dogs, children, training, and the chance to simply be a puppy. Waffle is already crate trained, giving him a great start on one of the skills that can make the transition into his forever home easier. He’s learning what life inside a loving home is all about, and his foster family is helping him build the confidence he needs along the way. And should you ever need a little extra help convincing Waffle that something is a good idea, you may want to have some cheese nearby. This boy is a fan. Waffle Osito would be a wonderful match for a family willing to give a young dog continued guidance, patience, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to build confidence. A home with kids or other friendly dogs could give him some of the companionship he already enjoys in foster care. He may need a moment to get comfortable somewhere new, but underneath that initial hesitation is a sweet, playful puppy who is learning that he doesn't have to navigate the world on his own anymore. Waffle Osito spent part of his puppyhood surviving on the streets. Now he gets to learn what it means to belong to a family. And maybe eat a little cheese along the way. Questions?
